RED and RED-like DUOS:
=======================================================================
Reported by Karl Eisenhart:
That’s right, two big shows this week. BIG SCARY SHOWS!! First, on
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26th, we have a special special event at the BUCKEYE
TAVERN on Brookside road in MACUNGIE. If you see the show advertised
elsewhere, it’ll just say that the acoustic super duo RED is
performing, but that’s only HALF THE STORY. What you, the lucky
recipients of this wonderful email will know is that this Thursday,
the part of Chris Michels will be played by the young, dashing and
massively talented RICKY BELL! (www.rickybell.com) (Hey, he even has
one of those fancy website thingies!) The show is from 9:00 to 12:00
and promises to be a doozie. There will be some of my obscure prog-
tinged, classic-rocky solo stuff, some of Ricky’s cool killer 80’s,
90’s and double-0’s covers, and a bunch of really cool tunes that we
BOTH know by Styx, Peter Gabriel, Train and many others. The last
time we did this it was a total riot. This time should be even
better. Be there…

AND THEN! THE VERY NEXT DAY, FRIDAY, October 27th, RED (the real red,
with Chris and everything) returns to THE SUMMIT BAR AND GRILL on State
Road in ALBURTIS, right up the hill from the Bear Creek Ski resort.
The show is from 9:00 to 1:00 and, if technology doesn’t get the better
of me, we will be recording a live album! Come on out, eat, drink, be
merry and have your opportunity to hoot and holler for posterity. The
last couple shows we’ve played at the Summit have been some of the most
fun we’ve ever had. We’re counting on this one being just as good.
See you there.

COMING THIS WEEK:

PULSE: http://soundscapes.us/pulse
=======================================================================
ONLY TWO MORE PULSE SHOWS LEFT IN 2006 SO SEE 'EM WHILE YOU CAN.

Pulse returns to Club 316 THIS SATURDAY, October 28 for their Halloween
party. The festivities begin at 8:00 pm. A measly $5 gets you food, a
beer, and a night of great Classic and Progressive Rock with Pulse.
There will be prizes for the best costumes and lots of spooky fun.

In November, Pulse returns to the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club on the 18th.

PULSE plays at the level of a tribute band without specializing on any
one band. This is no mean feat! This high caliber Classic Rock band
plays the music of Steely Dan, Santana, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Moody
Blues, Jethro Tull, Blues Brothers, Beatles, and other top shelf
groups. The group includes Greg Van Allen (guitars and vocals), Rod
Gilkeson (vocals), Bob Ashmore (Keyboards), Bill Fox (bass and vocals),
and Billy Fenstermacher (drums and vocals).

IN THE NEAR FUTURE:

THE AM/FM SHOW ON WMUH: http://soundscapes.us/amfm
=======================================================================
My next stint on the AM/FM Show will be Saturday, November 11 at 6:00
am. I will continue the special on E-dition Electronic Music
Magazine's sampler CDs.

Tune in to WMUH Allentown at 91.7 FM, broadcasting from the campus of
Muhlenberg College. I alternate hosting the show with Bruce. When I
am at the helm, the show features electronic, ambient, and spacemusic
at the beginning, an eclectic mix of genres in the middle, and winds
up with Progressive Rock. WMUH's web site is
http://www.muhlenberg.edu/wmuh

MUNICIPAL BAND OF ALLENTOWN: http://MunicipalBand.org
=======================================================================
Please plan to join the band in holiday cheer at the annual Holiday
Dinner Concert on December 10 at the Days Inn Conference Center on
Route 309 at Route 22. Menu details and reservation form are available
on-line at the band website and from band members.
